Well, it’s 2014 and it’s been a long time between blog posts. Oops. Whilst I know everyone is probably sick to death of turkey, ham, trifles and pudding and madly trying to work off the post-Christmas indulgence, I thought it might be worthwhile still posting a few pics of the 2013 Gingerbread house. I haven’t bothered posting the actual recipe here (but you can find it in last year’s post).
This year’s house was pretty simple in its actual construction; a whirlwind end to the year meant that the actual house nearly didn’t happen (quel horreur!) so in the interest of time, I kept it low key. To be honest, I have much more fun with the actual decorating anyway. The Jelly Baby DJ made a comeback, as did the annual Jacuzzi session. I’m loving the repeat of the bocce court, myself.
A few additions this year:
- Green grass, brought to you by desiccated coconut
- Window pots made out of Wine Gums and mini M&Ms.
A special shout out to The Beard for tackling the arduous task of slicing the green M&Ms in half; and for hiding his annoyance well in the process. It was actually the most commented on detail, so nice work, dude.
What to do next in 2014, that is the question…
